- First up, debt consolidation services. They will actually pay off all your debt and make it so that you're paying much less in interest by re-financing what you owed. What's great about them is that they actually pay off the principal completely, eliminating all your debt and then refinance you at much lower rate, which usually saves between 18 and 40%.
- Then there's debt relief services. They put a soft, warm towel on your face, massage your shoulders, whisper words of advice into your ear, and then let you try to sort things out yourself. They're not the greatest for many people, but you can't beat a good shoulde rub. The less touchy-feely version of this is debt management services, who actually negotiate, but you still have to pay off the total debt owed with some interest whacked off out of courtesy.
